A&V in Straße und Autobahn: Compliance in road construction

On May 12, 2023, the Bundesrat approved the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG). Under this law, companies with more than 50 employees are required to set up an internal reporting office to which violations of applicable law committed within the company can be reported. This once again brings the issue of compliance into focus. Although compliance is on the agenda of many road construction companies, there are still numerous companies for which the term and its meaning are still virtually unknown. While many large companies have learned from the mistakes of the past years, smaller and medium-sized companies sometimes still pay too little attention to the “compliance” complex. This is a negligence that can take revenge if the worst comes to the worst.
