studied law in Bonn and Bremen and received her doctorate for a thesis on the influence of EC law on national law. She had worked in the diplomatic service for several years, e.g., at the German General Consulate in Barcelona and as head of the Consular Department of the German Embassy in Jakarta before joining our law firm in 2003. As a Bar-certified Specialist in Medicine Law she counsels our clients from the health care sector, especially regarding the remuneration of hospitals' and private physicians' services. She advises several large hospitals and private clinic operators with regard to all legal matters arising in connection with the German System of Diagnosis Related Groups (G-DRG) and the application of the GOÄ.
Dr. Berninghausen is a Member of the Working Group for Medicine Law of the German Bar Association.
